I am particularly interested in independent / small publications as I feel there is a need to raise the well-written works above the not-so-well ones. My reviews are honest but not brutal, if I feel there are too many problems with the book then I will deny the request. I don’t believe in rubbishing a book that could be bettered by more careful editing or a re-write. Saying something is bad doesn’t help anybody.
If the book is self-published I would prefer it has been looked over with professional eyes. I simply don’t have the expertise to offer a book critique.
I have an account with netgalley and would prefer books in PDF/mobi format for ease of reading. I also have accounts on Goodreads and LibraryThing and will post reviews simultaenously to these sites if required.
I can’t offer a lead time on reviews – I will aim to read within a month of receiving the book but I prefer to read it in its entirety before I write a review.
